Powers and duties of its officers and employees

1.
Director:- Overall supervision of the Directorate in order to carry out the mandate of the CHD.
2.
General Editor:- Responsible for editing of publication of Directorate and other assignments assigned by the Director.
3.
Dy. Directors:- To assist the Director in performing the functions mandated by the Government to Central Hindi Directorate and also to look after the Regional Offices as per his/her postings.
4.
Assistant Director, Research Officer and Assistant Research Officer / Evaluators : Perform all duties which are aimed at achieving the mandate of Directorate, i.e. Publication of Dictionaries (Hindi-Hindi, Hindi-Regional Languages, Hindi-Foreign Languages), Correspondence Courses (Checking of response sheets, preparation of study material in printing and electronic form, CD etc.), Publication of Journals, Extension Programmes of various kind including seminar, study tours etc., all promotional activities for the development of Hindi like grants-in-aid to VHOs, Exhibition, Free Distribution of books, sales.
Besides the above, all the officers of Directorate can perform any duties, academic and administrative, that is assigned in the interest of Directorate and public.
