Deva-nagari - The Character

Generally, each letter in Devanāgarī represents a sound in this writing system -without there being situations like poor and door in English, where the same letter combination "oo" is pronounced so differently. It has evolved into a highly cursive script. Although for the sake of simplicity, we have doubled the vowels for the longer version of each vowel letters here. Mostly people use the following special symbols of transcription traditionally, rather than using IPA (the International Phonetic Association)
